Thank you to everyone who attended the HOA meeting on 8/24/24. We had a total of 14 houses represented. Below is a summary of what was covered in the meeting.
New
-We have had two home sales this year. Welcome to the neighborhood!
-A fall yard sale followed by a community dumpster day (where we rent a dumpster for a few days immediately following) was proposed and passed unanimously.
-We discussed a possible change in the covenant to fine serious offenses. There have been circumstances where homeowners have been contacted about major infractions and have not replied to notices. This will result in a $50/day fine. Fines do not get assessed without a prior written warning notification from the HOA of a violation. Liens will be filed when the total reaches $2,000. The board does not intend to use this enforecement method except in egregious violations. More on this to come in the future.
General Announcements
-The tree canopy by the front entrance will be cut back to improve visibility and the dying crab apple tree will also be removed.Â
-We will be replacing the ‘Haleys Wood’ nature sign that is faded.
-We are looking into fixing slanted sign posts
-We would like to set up some neighborhood work days once the weather cools off.
-Financial documents were distributed and gone over in detail.Â
-There was some confusion about how HOA fees work. HOA fees work on a January-December calendar year. The dues are able to be paid without penalty up until May 30th. All dues paid May 30th 2024 were for the January-December 2024 year. You are always welcome to pay as early as January 1st, but must pay by May 30th.Â
Reminders
-Please pick up after your dogs. This continues to be an ongoing problem in the common areas and yards.
-Please be mindful of street parking and not blocking the road or driveways.
-Please maintain appropriate use of the Facebook and website as group spaces. These are not for discussion with or about individual neighbors, but for discussions as a community.
-Make sure all of your trash is bagged properly to avoid trash in our streets.Â
-Please add your name, street address and contact info to our ongoing document.
-We still have 3 outstanding HOA fees.Â
Get Involved
We have several items that we need your help with! If any of these interest you please comment below.
-As a community we have discussed switching trash companies, but we need someone to spearhead this.
-Landscaping is our primary expense. If you have a company you trust, please let us know. We also need help with contacting and getting comparison quotes.Â
-We are still in need of more involvement on committees. Please comment below if there is anything you would be interested in helping with. Some examples include: Event Planning, Covenant Reviews, Neighborhood Contracts (trash, landscaping, insurance), or any way in which you feel you could help out.Â
